Archuleta County residents, curious about lowering their energy bills, are invited to a free Energy Rebate Open House on Tuesday, June 9, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the CSU Extension Office at 344 Highway 84 in Pagosa Springs.
Register for FREE on the 4CORE website.
About $4 million in home energy rebates (enough for about 300 homes outside of the Front Range) remain available to Southwest Colorado residents through the State of Colorado’s Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) Program. With demand already high, residents are encouraged to act quickly before funds are depleted.
Through the HEAR Program, eligible households may receive rebates of up to $14,000 for energy-efficient home improvements, including:
- Heat pump heating and cooling systems (up to $8,000)
- Heat pump water heaters (up to $1,750)
- Electrical panel upgrades (up to $4,000)
- Other electrification and efficiency measures
The open house event will be co-hosted by the Four Corners Office of Resource Efficiency (4CORE), La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) and the Colorado Energy Office and is free and open to the public. LPEA and the Colorado Energy Office will give short presentations at 4:30 and again at 5:15. Throughout the evening, approved contractors, energy advisors, and program experts will be on hand to visit with attendees and offer personalized guidance.
HEAR program rebates are available to both homeowners and renters, and is income-qualified, with eligibility extending to households earning up to 150% of Area Median Income (that’s up to $153,000 for a family of four in Archuleta County).
“Every home is different,” said Erika Brown, Regional Energy Coach with 4CORE. “That’s why we’re bringing HEAR-approved contractors and program experts together in one place – so residents can get real answers about what makes sense for their specific situation, not just general information.”
Attendees of the event can expect to:
- Learn about electrification and energy efficiency options and available rebates
- Connect directly with HEAR-approved local contractors
- Receive assistance from Colorado Energy Office staff with eligibility and the application process
- Explore additional incentives and financing options with LPEA and 4CORE experts
The Colorado Energy Office will sponsor food for the event.
The same event will be offered at LPEA’s headquarters in Durango at 45 Stewart Street on June 10 from 4:00pm to 6:00 pm. With limited funding available, residents are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to significantly reduce energy costs while improving home comfort and efficiency.
