End of Life Education is beginning a new series of programs that should be exciting and educational.
The first program will be presented on March 19 beginning at 1:00pm at the Community United Methodist Church at 434 Lewis St. with the large convenient parking lot and side door into the meeting room.
In 2024, End of Life Education had a guest speaker, Connie Cook, an EMT (emergency medical technician), who gave a most memorable talk about emergency medical response. It was unbelievably impressive. The emergency medical response team recently added a new staff member, Andrew Spangler, who is focusing almost solely on education. He will be speaking to the public at two of our meetings, on March 19 and April 16.
His comments will be for senior citizens, but he will also be including material for the general public sharing how they want to expand their emergency education program for everyone. That is why everyone is invited to attend.
Knowledge about an emergency medical program can only be beneficial to everyone. We will all be working together to create the best program possible. Even if you just have questions or want better explanations, you need to join us.
Another new speaker at End of Life Education from 1:15 to 2:15pm on April 30 will be Brad Hunt, our Archuleta County coroner. State laws have changed and the coroner must be more involved following every death.
These may be three emotionally challenging programs. If you come, please step up and be prepared for a challenge.
We have several medical doctors and several counselors who have been part of End of Life Education in the past. Plus, there are other amazingly caring people at our meetings. You may need to monitor yourself, communicate openly and be 100 percent honest.
We almost always find that we are more capable and stronger than we ever thought we were. We will be learning a great deal at each of these programs.
