Thanks to Bill Hudson for his great article on October 14 (‘Do We Even Want Development in Pagosa Springs?’)
and for his opinions regarding to the water and sewage that would be needed if the Big Developments are approved.
I appreciate Mr. Hudson being there at the meeting and writing this article because it’s a very big concern to a lot of us. I’ve been discussing this for a couple of months. I say NO to ALL Big Developments, speaking as a concerned resident of 26 years. In cases of emergency, traffic needs to move freely, so evacuations can go smoothly — if we ever had to hightail it out of here on a moment’s notice, or even with adequate time, it can become a very panicked scenario.
After our long, dry, hot summers… I honestly believe after 2026, it’s a valid concern. Big Developments mean more people and more vehicles. Could be a life or death situation for the many of us who live north of Highway 160, between North Pagosa and our downtown area and up as far as Snowball Road — to be able to access Highway 160.
Thanks again to Mr. Hudson for his expertise and sharing on the sewer and water systems.
Let’s hope for the best… There are SO many reasons to say NO to All Future Big Developments.
