Katie Stewart’s ‘Wonder Woman’ ads make me smile. Katie is indeed a Wonder Woman, because as her House District 59 constituent, I wonder where she’s been the past two years.
As a well driller, I wonder what she’s done to help fund well inspectors. I wonder whether she understands the problems with La Plata County’s ADU well testing requirements and the water, money and time they waste.
I reached out repeatedly, offering to discuss these concerns privately or on my podcast. She said she would, then ghosted me. All she had to do was show up and give me reasonable answers. I wanted to hear them.
Now I wonder why her party is pouring so much money into her race. What should Southwest Colorado expect if she wins another term?
Naomi Riess leaves me with no such questions. She’s the Energizer: show up, get it done, meet everybody, answer the questions. Completely unafraid.
She met my wife and me for lunch, talked with us at church, visited a Durango drilling site and joined my ‘Guru, Movers & Shakers’ podcast. She listened, answered questions and shared her experience. I’ve learned so much from her.
During our interview, I kept thinking: “Where have you been all my life?”
We need someone who understands our communities and makes time for the people asking questions. Showing up matters. Answering matters. Experience matters.
I don’t want to wonder whether my representative will listen.
It’s no wonder I’m voting for Naomi Riess. I encourage you to join me.
