The Rio Blanco fire evacuees have to be impressed with the response the community has provided. All the emergency crews and fire professionals have given residents quick response and provided excellent information.
Friends and neighbors offered their homes and barns, muscles and transportation.
Last Sunday evening, August 9, a dinner and some special gifts were graciously provided to the evacuees. The Pagosa Springs High School commons was prepared with flowers and a warm welcome by over 50 volunteers.
Todd Stevens (Farrago), Kathy Keyes (Pagosa Baking) and Lynne Killey (Queen Bee Facial Studio) brought the “Gather“ together. Over $12,000 worth of donations and gift cards were donated by many generous restaurants and businesses…
…all sending a message to those displaced that, the community cares. Let your needs be known and people are kind to help meet those needs.
