‘Runway for Rise’ Fundraiser Coming in October

Runway for Rise, a frugal but fabulous fashion show, is just around the corner.

On October 3, creative teams will take the runway to show off one-of-a-kind outfits made from local thrift store finds, elements from nature and this year’s surprise materials: recycled cardboard and plastic. It will be an evening filled with imagination, style, laughter and community spirit all in support of an important cause.

Three creative teams have signed up for this Rise Above Violence event and bring their creativity, passion and community pride to the runway.

You can vote for your favorite team here.

All funds raised through Runway for Rise are tax-deductible and support Rise Above Violence in its mission to create lasting community change. Your support helps promote the belief that all people have the right to live free from violence.

Tickets are now on sale, and are expected to sell quickly, so don’t wait. Online voting for your favorite teams has also begun, giving the community another exciting way to show support.

In addition to ticket sales and voting, Runway for Rise depends on the generosity of sponsors to help cover event expenses. Sponsorship support from businesses and individuals allows proceeds from ticket sales and cash voting to go directly to Rise Above Violence programs. Runway sponsors receive valuable benefits, including marketing exposure and event tickets. Even more importantly, they become partners in the effort to end domestic violence alongside one of Pagosa’s oldest and most respected nonprofits.

In 2025, Rise Above Violence served 367 victims and answered nearly 800 hotline calls. These numbers reflect the ongoing need for support, compassion and community action.

If you would like to be included as a sponsor for this meaningful community evening, please contact Annie Gian at annie@riseaboveviolence.org for more information.

Mark October 3 on your calendar, invite your friends, vote for your favorite team, buy your tickets early, and join us for a fabulous evening of fashion, fun and community impact. This is one event you won’t want to miss.
