As part of Healthy Archuleta’s efforts to expand access to mental and behavioral healthcare, the organization is advancing several community initiatives. One area that was identified was a collective space for mental and behavioral health providers to gather and learn from one another. The first meeting of this group, the Behavioral Health Collaborative, was held on Thursday, June 4, where a group of Pagosa Springs mental health professionals gathered over lunch to discuss how to support advocacy and education in the community.
Creating a group like this can offer many benefits for providers, including learning from one another, training support, and networking. Attendees were particularly interested in providing training and networking opportunities at future meetings planned to occur 3-4 times a year. The next meeting will take place the week of August 17, details to be announced. All area professionals interested are invited and encouraged to attend. Thank you to Pagosa Springs Middle School for providing a meeting place and to Las Princess Taqueria for providing a delicious lunch.
This collaborative effort represents an important step toward achieving Healthy Archuleta’s long-term vision: a thriving, interconnected community where every individual has the resources they need to flourish. By strengthening the network of our local mental health professionals, we are building the foundation for a more resilient Archuleta County. We look forward to growing this partnership, breaking down barriers to care, and working hand-in-hand to ensure that mental wellness is within reach for everyone in our community.
