The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) is calling Unitarian Universalists to “pay close attention to the world around us, make meaning of what we’re seeing, and take grounded, courageous action shaped by our deepest values,” says executive editor, Kristen Cox Roby, of UU World Magazine. Meet the Moment is a framework, from the UUA with a call to action that we at the Pagosa UU Fellowship answer by our Action Sunday! every fourth Sunday.
This coming Sunday, May 24, we plan to meet outdoors near the uptown rec-center, to engage with this mission. (If the weather is less-than-idea, we will meet at the Fellowship.)
Our focus has been on postcard writing, and finding creative ways to share small acts of kindness in our community and the world. So how about painting rocks? We will have rocks, paint and brushes ready for your design or slogan as we get ready for PRIDE month in June. It is a simple and creative act that is easy for any age to do. Join us at 10:30 Sunday morning as we Make Friends, Grow in Spirit and Do Good, and gather together in active hope.
The UU Fellowship space is available for adjacent groups to meet in what we call our Community Hub, such as the Tara Meditation Group. Held Sundays at the Fellowship and online from 5:30-6:30pm. Check out the website, PagosaUU.org, for more information about the Meditation group and to be notified of upcoming programs.
Other groups that meet are:
Weekly Qigong practice (Mondays at 1:00pm)
Wise & Wakeful Circle (the second and fourth Saturdays, at 10am)
Both of these groups are drop-in and all are welcome.
As a way to practice rest and counter the cultural norms, the UU Fellowship takes all fifth Sundays as a day of intentional rest. There will be no services Sunday, May 31.
The Fellowship space is located in the Greenbriar Plaza, Unit B-15, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd. on the north side facing the Pagosa Peak.
