The Grief Support Group is exclusively designed for those who are grieving the death of a loved one.
Meetings will be on Saturday mornings from 10 to 11:30am from March 7 to May 30 in the Centerpoint Church Library, 2750 Cornerstone Drive, (970) 731-2205.
No matter what the circumstances, grief is a painful, confusing process. A GriefShare group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief.
At this 13-week support group program, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability — and gain solid support each step of the way.
You may start attending at any time.
At GriefShare you’ll watch a weekly video with counsel and insights from respected professional and pastoral people, as well as relatable personal stories, followed by a time of sharing and support.
Session topics include what’s normal in grief; how to handle difficult emotions; and what to do with regrets, questions and worries. Session topics include how to manage grief-related emotions such as loneliness, anxiety, sadness and anger; how to cope with the changes in your life and relationships; and what to do if you feel stuck or hopeless.
GriefShare group participants have repeatedly shared that they feel comforted and encouraged by being in a place where people truly understand what they’re going through yet recognizing that each one deals with grief differently. Many have expressed a sense of relief when they’re given guidance and tips on how to deal with the daily challenges. Your bereavement experience may be recent or not so recent. No matter how long it’s been, this is an opportunity to be around people who understand what you are feeling and start the journey from mourning to joy.
If you have experienced the death of a family member or friend, GriefShare is a safe place for you to find help and healing at this critical time in your life.
