Healthy Archuleta Announces New Office Location

Healthy Archuleta’s core principle has always been to prioritize listening, followed by collective action.

We believe that meaningful, sustainable change stems from genuine mutual understanding. Our process involves asking what is successful, identifying challenges and seeking out areas for growth. This information then guides our community in developing practical, collaborative and optimistic solutions.

The spirit of Healthy Archuleta is evident throughout Archuleta County. It manifests when neighbors meet to discuss food security, working to ensure all families have nourishing meals. It appears as young leaders designing authentic peer-to-peer campaigns. It’s seen when local growers share insights on the growing season, what was successful, what was challenging to collectively boost local production.

These examples are not disconnected projects; they are the natural cadence of community life and the very core of Healthy Archuleta.

While most of our work happens throughout the community, we want residents to know where to find us if they need to connect in person. Our administrative office has moved to 3505 W. U.S. 160, on the second floor of the Pagosa Lodge.

Sustainable change is rooted in shared community responsibility and the establishment of systems that reflect collective values, not in isolated programs or organizations. This collaborative approach is essential to making progress in nutrition security, health equity and fostering a deeper sense of belonging.

Healthy Archuleta began with the understanding that health starts long before someone walks into a clinic. It begins with access to nourishing food. It grows through supportive relationships. It strengthens when communities solve challenges collaboratively rather than in isolation.

Our vision is a community where everyone contributes to and benefits from an equitable, resilient and sustainable food and health care system. Our mission is to drive strategic systems change by engaging community members to advance nutrition security, health equity and greater social belonging.

We serve as a backbone organization, bringing together schools, health care providers, public health leaders, food access operators, community organizations, growers, youth, volunteers, residents and local partners to align efforts and design solutions that last. Using community data, lived experience and collaborative planning, we strengthen food systems, expand access to preventive and behavioral health care, and create meaningful leadership opportunities for residents of all ages. The best way to stay engaged with Healthy Archuleta, however, is to stay connected to the work itself.

Sign up for our newsletter and explore volunteer opportunities. Our progress depends on community participation, and there are many ways to help build a healthier, more connected Archuleta. Because systems change doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when neighbors show up, share ideas and move forward together.
