Over the past weekend, Wolf Creek Ski Area in the Southern San Juan Mountains snapped an early November’s dry weather pattern with a 23-inch storm.

The light, new snowfall opened additional lifts in addition to Nova and Magic Carpet which were operational during weekends since Wolf Creek’s inaugural opening day of November 11. The Lynx, Bonanza, Raven and Treasure Lifts opened Saturday, November 25; with hard working crews harvesting snow to supplement the natural snowfall in efforts to open the remaining lifts.

The transition to 7-day a week operations will see the Treasure Stoke, Raven, Bonanza, Lynx, Nova and Magic Carpet open from 9:00am to 4:00pm for skiers and boarders to enjoy roughly 30% of ski area terrain.

Sunday, November 26, the Charity Jane, Alberta and Elma lifts are anticipated to open (Time TBA) which will increase the skiable areas to 60% of the mountain. Conditions are powder and packed powder with early season conditions and unmarked obstacles. The skiing public is encouraged to use caution. The mid stake snow depth is 27 inches with a year-to-date snowfall total of 38 inches.

Lift tickets are at Local Appreciation rates until the next significant snowfall. Appreciation rates are $66 for adults, $47 for seniors and $33 for children. Wolf Creek Ski School, Ski and Snowboard Rental, Pathfinder Bar and the Wolf Creek Lodge (Upper Lodge) are open with full services.

Treasure & Noel Sports are also open. Treasure Sports at Wolf Creek Ski Area has extended an excellent Black Friday Sale that offers up to 40% off on select hats, hoodies, gloves and other softgoods. Treasure Sports also has a great holiday gift selection for the skier in your family.

Overnight parking in the Overflow Lot is permitted to ski area guests only, who are recreating on Wolf Creek Ski Area’s special use permit, i.e. ski area boundary, as well as participants of the Pass Creek Yurt.

An uphill pass ($5.00/year) is required for ascending and can be purchased at the Ticket Office. Uphill traffic is allowed only during operating hours and must proceed to the side of the runs as downhill traffic possesses right-of-way.

Wolf Creek is taking applications for all departments: accounting, lifts, ski school, food and beverage, base operations, retail, ticket office and more. Please check out the Employment Page to download an application.
