Community Invited to Comment on Proposed Archuleta County STR Regulations, Tomorrow and Saturday

The Archuleta County Planning Department has been working on a comprehensive package of proposals to help the Board of County Commissioners better address Pagosa’s housing crisis, and also the impacts created by the growth of the vacation rental industry in our community.

The proposed regulations and policies will be presented to the public tomorrow, Friday June 24, and on Saturday June 25, with the idea of gathering community input.  These are free events; everyone is invited to participate.

Four different policy options currently being considered by Archuleta County for vacation rentals, will be explained, and feedback invited.

The Friday, June 24 presentation will take place at 6pm at the CSU Extension Building (County Fairgrounds).

The Saturday, June 25 presentation will take place at 2pm at the Ross Aragon Community Center.

Community members who cannot attend the presentations can review the options and express your preferences by downloading this document, here. Please read the information and then respond to the online survey linked on the last page.

(If you find the link to be broken at the end of the document, you can access the survey here.)

The results of this online survey will be provided to the Board of County Commissioners for their consideration. (If the link or QR code does not work, please contact jjones@archuletacounty.org for help.)

The public presentation on Friday and Saturday will focus on the four options, which have been labeled:

    • Breathing Room
    • Skin in the Game
    • Cost of Doing Business
    • Hybrid

Feel free to attend so you can ask clarifying questions about anything presented here.

Ensure that your voice is heard.
