Pagosa Springs Town Council Seats Up for Election

The Town of Pagosa Springs will hold its municipal election on April 5, 2022 via mail ballot — and four seats on the seven-member Town Council are up for election: Mayor and three at-large seats.

The voters eliminated Council districts several years ago, so all seats on the Council are now open to anyone living within the municipal boundaries.

The ballots will be mailed to eligible electors of the Town on or after March 14, 2022.

In order to vote in the election, an elector must be eighteen (18) years of age as of the day of the election, be a citizen of the United States of America, be registered with the Town Clerk or Archuleta County Clerk, not be in prison, and have legally resided for at least twenty-two (22) days immediately preceding the election in Colorado within the municipal limits of the Town as of the date of the election.

If you are not registered to vote, please contact Archuleta County election clerk, Tomi Bliss, at 970-264-8331 or register online at www.govotecolorado.com

In order to run for a Council Seat you must:

  1. Be a citizen of the United States of America
  2. Be a registered voter of the Town of Pagosa Springs
  3. A resident of the Town for a period of no less than 12 consecutive months preceding the election, and
  4. Have no felony convictions

Nomination petition packets are now available at the Town Hall. Tuesday, January 4, 2022, was the first day petitions may be circulated. Completed petitions are due in the Town Clerk’s office no later than 5:00pm on Monday, January 24, 2022.
