LPEA Seeking Applicants for ‘Round Up Foundation’ Board

The La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) Board of Directors is seeking volunteers to apply to serve on the Round Up Foundation Board, which allocates grant funding to local non-profits and educational projects.

Interested individuals from LPEA districts 1, 2 and 4 are invited to apply by November 23.

Applications will be reviewed by the LPEA Board of Directors, with appointments made at their December 16 meeting. The new Round Up Board appointees will serve a two-year term beginning January 25, 2027.

The Round Up Board meets virtually on the last Monday of each month from 3:30 to 5:30pm. Volunteers should expect to dedicate up to 10 hours per month, including meeting time and reviewing grant applications.

Open positions:

District 1 (Archuleta County): One appointment.

District 2 (South and West La Plata County): One appointment.

District 4 (North & East La Plata County): One appointment.

More information and applications can be accessed at https://lpea.coop/round-foundation.

The Round Up Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life in our communities. For 30 years, LPEA members have voluntarily “rounded up” their electric bills to the nearest dollar, raising more than $1.5 million for nonprofits in La Plata and Archuleta counties. So far this year, the board has awarded more than $59,000 in grants.

The Round Up Foundation Board also oversees the distribution of grants funded by unclaimed capital credits to support educational and community projects across our service territory.
