Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to Engage in ‘Action Sunday!’

The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship will engage in Action Sunday! held the fourth Sunday — March 22 — at 10:30am. We have been reading and engaging in ways to deeper our understanding of mutual aid through Social Change Now: A Guide for Reflection and Connection by Deepa Iyer.

This workbook-style read focuses on roles we all participate in when doing the work of building beloved community. The final section, For Now, and For the Long Haul poses questions vital to the sustainability of the eco-systems related to social justice work. How can we sustain ourselves and build capacity for now and for the long haul? It offers practices for maintaining individual and collective well-being. Come to learn and join in work that connects rather than burn out.

We will also have an opportunity to put action to issues we care about by writing postcards. This simple practice helps us express our values and engages us more deeply to live those values in the wider world.

As an update to last week’s service, Rooted in Solidarity, two of the Readers were ill, and we have postponed the service to a later date. Stay tuned, and a new date will be posted soon. It will be a powerful service, through stories, song and action.

The UU Fellowship space is available for adjacent groups to meet in what we call our Community Hub. The Tara Meditation Group held Sundays at a new time, 5:30-6:30pm, Qigong practice on Monday afternoons. The Wise & Wakeful Circle meets Saturday, March 28 at 10am. This open group is a time of connection, mindfulness and engaging in community. The fifth Sundays are set aside as a day of rest. Therefore, there will be no services Sunday, March 29.

For more information, check out the website, PagosaUU.org for our current monthly newsletter and more. The Fellowship space is located in the Greenbriar Plaza, Unit B-15, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd. on the north side facing the Pagosa Peak. We celebrate diversity and foster a spiritual home for those wishing to Make Friends, Grow in Spirit and Do Good, and gather together in active hope.
