Healthy Archuleta invites the community to support our neighbors during our next Food Drive this Saturday, June 20, from 10:00am to 1:00pm in front of the Pagosa Springs City Market. Community members can stop by the Healthy Archuleta table, grab a targeted shopping list, and fill a bag with essential items to ensure our local pantries remain stocked this summer. This food drive supports all of the food pantries in Archuleta County through the Food Pantry Network.
In addition to food drives, food pantries in Archuleta County rely on a multi-layered approach to provide food to our neighbors. Community donations, regional agricultural partnerships, grants, and the regional food bank, Care and Share, are important to each pantry, helping them provide the variety of foods they offer to our neighbors. Additionally, Healthy Archuleta continues to grow fresh produce year-round through its hydroponic growing towers and partners with local community gardens to support fresh food access through the Food Pantry Network. Together, these sources help local families have access to both household staples and highly nutritious, fresh foods.
Get involved this weekend! True food security is built by the community, for the community. Your support matters! You can get involved by:
Donating: Visit us at City Market this Saturday, June 20 (10 am–1 pm), pick up a shopping list, and buy a few extra items during your grocery run.
Volunteering: We are actively looking for community members to help maintain the hydroponic towers, test water levels, and assist with harvests.
Growing: If you can grow fruit, vegetables, and herbs, and you have extra to donate, we will share it with the food pantries.
