Archuleta School District is pleased to announce that current Pagosa Springs Middle School Assistant Principal Janae Ash has been selected as the next Principal of Pagosa Springs Middle School. Janae has served Archuleta School District for 19 years, including many years as a 4th and 5th grade teacher, and is currently in her second year as assistant principal at Pagosa Springs Middle School.
“I am greatly humbled and honored to be selected as the next principal of Pagosa Springs Middle School. I feel fortunate to not only be a product of this school and district as a student, but also to have started my teaching career here in 2006, ” Janae said. “I am excited to continue building on the strong culture and positive momentum already in place at PSMS, while working alongside our remarkable staff to create the best possible experience for all students.”
Janae will step into the principal role following the recent selection of current PSMS Principal Joshua Sanchez as the next principal of Pagosa Springs High School. Under typical circumstances, we would immediately begin a search process for the next principal. However, after consulting with the PSMS team, we determined that selecting Janae as the next principal was the best path forward for the school community. Janae is a proven, thoughtful leader who has already made a significant impact at PSMS. She has built positive relationships across the school community, holds high expectations for student outcomes, and has proven her ability to implement plans that strengthen academic programs and support student success. I am confident she will continue to move PSMS forward in this new role.
Please join us in congratulating Janae on her new role as Principal of Pagosa Springs Middle School.
