2026 Habitat Homes Get More Concrete

The 2026 Build Season is underway for Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County, with foundations formed for four new ‘Partner Family’ homes.

Up Next on the Jobsite:

  • Backfill
  • Utility taps
  • Driveways
  • Getting ready for the modular houses to arrive!

The majority of jobsite operations right now are for subs, staff, and partner families. Stay tuned for updates and calls for volunteers!

Volunteers are vital to Habitat Archuleta’s mission. Jobsite hours will be Tuesday through Saturday 8:30am-2:30pm. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the form linked here.

All four house foundations are in, and garage pads are following quickly.

With the pump truck hard at work, things are moving fast as we lay the groundwork for what’s to come.

Laying it on thick
Sealing the foundation is messy work, but Partner Family Holly is all smiles while getting it done! This important step helps protect the foundation – and the home as a whole. Our Partner Families are hands‑on throughout the entire process, from start to finish, as they watch their homes come to fruition.

Apply for a Habitat House
At Habitat for Humanity, homeownership is built on partnership — between families, volunteers, donors, and the entire community. Becoming a Habitat homeowner means working alongside us to create a stable, affordable future for your family.

To qualify, applicants must demonstrate a need for housing, meet income guidelines, and show the ability to pay an affordable mortgage. Future homeowners also commit to contributing “sweat equity” by helping build their home or the homes of others.

Since 1994, we’ve built 36 homes, creating stability and opportunity for over 260 individuals. With help from volunteers, donors, and partners, we’re building a future where everyone can thrive in our mountain town.

It’s a shared journey of effort, hope, and lasting change — and it all starts with a willingness to build a better future together.

Habitat Archuleta is always accepting applications, but there are deadlines to apply for each build season about a year in advance. There are a lot of opportunities and programs out there to help you buy your first home, and we would love to be your first stop along the way. Fill out an application here, or contact us at 970-264-6960.

Lodging Needed
We’re looking to bring on a college Construction Management student this summer to assist on the jobsite! CM students often need hands‑on work experience as part of their program, and several have expressed interest in learning more about Habitat Archuleta. If you – or someone you know – may have opportunities or connections, please reach out to Madeline at construction@habitatarchuleta.org.

Seeking Truck Donation
Habitat Archuleta is still seeking a reliable truck donation to help haul materials and support our construction crew on the jobsite. Please share, to help get the word out! Call today to learn more… 970-264-6960.
