INTEL FROM THE IVORY TOWER: Those Held Accountable for Murder

This week, a man’s being charged for allegedly killing a Ukrainian woman. At the same time, another has been slaughtering thousands of Ukrainian women over the last four years in the deadliest killing spree today. One seems highly likely to be held accountable for his crime. The other has been given carte blanche to kill women, as well as men and children. What’s going on here?

As Fox News reported, “Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old refugee from Ukraine, came to the U.S. seeking safety from her war-torn homeland, but was stabbed to death on a train in North Carolina….[a] man pulled out a knife and stabbed her to death. The suspect was… arrested and charged with murder.”

In another story, Fox News gave Trump’s thoughts on the matter their full attention. “”I have seen the horrific video of a beautiful, young Ukrainian refugee, who came to America to escape the vicious War in Ukraine, and was innocently riding the Metro in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she was brutally ambushed by a mentally deranged lunatic. The perpetrator was a well known career criminal, who had been previously arrested and released on CASHLESS BAIL in January, a total of 14 TIMES,” Trump said in the statement. “What the hell was he doing riding the train, and walking the streets? Criminals like this need to be LOCKED UP.”

Meanwhile, a murderer is responsible for the deaths of more than 5,000 women, with an additional 14,000+ women suffering war wounds, according to UN Women. That’s what has happened since 2022, when Russia launched an unprovoked attack upon Ukraine, forcing women like Zarutska to flee her country.

The latest tragedy was when the former producer and casting director Viktoriia Bobrova, a press officer for the “Edelweiss brigade” (known as “Kvitka” or flower), was the latest young woman to lose her life in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The North Carolina suspect is being moved through the judicial system so he could be held accountable for his actions. Putin, on the other hand, had sanctions lifted on his country by the Trump regime, a green light to kill more Ukrainian women, men, and children, often with Iranian weapons, Meanwhile, Ukrainians have been trying to help us stop those same missiles, having had those fired by Russia. But Iran is also being allowed to sell more oil, too, by the U.S. This is par for the course.

We used to send weapons to help Ukraine stop the slaughter. But since the election, that’s changed. As Yahoo News reports, “U.S. Vice President JD Vance said on April 14 that he is proud of Washington cutting off funding to Ukraine amid Russian aggression, listing it among the Trump administration’s top achievements.”

Well… the American people are starting to recognize that these killings of Ukrainians by Russians is wrong. According to the Pew Research Center, 45 percent of Americans once said they were very or “somewhat confident” that Donald Trump can make good decisions when it comes to the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, that’s down to 32 percent of Americans. Among Republicans, that number has fallen 21 points over the same time frame.

Another poll reveals exactly how unfavorable Americans feel about Vladimir Putin, the man responsible for it all. Less than 20 percent of Republicans, and Democrats, have a favorable impression of the Russian dictator.

Americans are getting smarter about realizing that Iran’s and North Korean ally Putin, is not our friend, and is getting away with killing thousands of Ukrainian women.

I wish our administration became a little wiser about this conflict too.
