Pilobolus Bringing ‘Other Worlds Collection’ to Durango Concert Hall, April 8

The Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College is proud to welcome the internationally acclaimed dance theater company Pilobolus on Wednesday, April 8, at 7:30pm.

Celebrated for its groundbreaking physicality, innovation, and storytelling, Pilobolus presents its Other Worlds Collection, a captivating exploration of the spaces we inhabit—within ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. With a repertoire that shifts from performance to performance, audiences will experience a selection of works that blend wit, wisdom, and whimsy.

Pilobolus’s Other Worlds Collection features Tales from the Underworld, a Pilobolean story ballet created in collaboration with award-winning playwright and director Aaron Posner and multi-instrumentalist and composer Stuart Bogie, which explores the emotional interplay of love and loss, capturing the tension that connects the two; the heartfelt quartet Awaken Heart, choreographed with former Pilobolus dancer and Founder and Artistic Director of Gaspard & Dancers (G&D), Gaspard Louis, which reflects on the fleeting beauty of memory, youth, and the impermanence of relationships; the poignant women’s duet Bloodlines, created by Pilobolus’s Executive/Co-Artistic Director Renée Jaworski and Artistic Director Matt Kent, which examines the generational evolution of family bonds; and new work Flight, inspired by original Pilobolus dancer Lee Harris’s passion for flying and his memories of the company’s fledgling days.

Founded in 1971 at Dartmouth College, Pilobolus has spent more than five decades testing the limits of human physicality to explore the beauty and power of connected bodies. With over 160 original works and performances spanning Broadway, the Academy Awards, and the Olympic Games, the company continues to expand how audiences experience dance — bringing both innovation and accessibility to stages around the world. That same spirit of collaboration and creative exploration is at the heart of the Other Worlds Collection, offering an evening that is as thought-provoking as it is visually captivating.

This one-night performance offers Southwest Colorado audiences the chance to experience Pilobolus’s signature blend of innovation and artistry live on stage.
