The Chimney Rock Interpretive Association (CRIA) invites community members to take part in our annual Volunteer Orientation, scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2026, from 9:15am to 3:00pm at the Methodist Church, 434 Lewis Street in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
This yearly orientation program welcomes both new and returning volunteers who are interested in helping share the remarkable history, culture, and landscape of Chimney Rock National Monument. Volunteers play a vital role in supporting tours, educational programs, and visitor experiences throughout the monument’s operating season.
The orientation will provide an overview of CRIA’s mission, volunteer opportunities, and the important role volunteers serve in preserving and interpreting this sacred and historically significant site.
Participants will also have the opportunity to deepen their connection to the monument during a Volunteer Familiarization Tour on Saturday, April 18, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Chimney Rock National Monument. This guided visit allows volunteers to experience the site firsthand while learning more about the programs and tours offered during the season.
Volunteering at Chimney Rock offers a meaningful way to engage with the region’s rich cultural heritage while contributing to the preservation of a treasured public land site. CRIA welcomes individuals who are passionate about history, education, nature, and community involvement. Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to attend the orientation and learn how they can be part of the upcoming season.
