So many improvements to America have taken place since January, I can’t count them all.
But all this talk about the Epstein Files is not an improvement.
Yes, the files were, at one point, on the desk of Attorney General Pam Bondi, as she stated on February 21 in an interview on Fox News.
Specifically, she was asked about a “client list”. When asked by Fox host John Roberts about the client list, Ms. Bondi responded, “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review.”
But I don’t want to talk about that. And I don’t want anyone else in the Lamestream Media talking about it. I’m actually sick and tired of everyone making a big deal about a file that was sitting on Pam Bondi’s desk but now — as we all know — doesn’t exist.
Ms. Bondi has made it very clear that the “client list” no longer exists. Can’t we all be satisfied with that? When I think of all the important people who would be embarrassed by the release of a “client list” I just feel sorry for them.
I’m even more upset about the rest of the so-called Epstein files. By which I mean, I’m disappointed that the Lamestream Media is even talking about the rest of the files. I have no idea how many files Pam Bondi has, or doesn’t have, because she was pretty clear that the Biden administration was hiding them. Or at least, wasn’t releasing them.
As she told John Roberts, “The Biden administration sat on these documents. No one did anything with them. And why were they sitting in the Southern District of New York? I want a full report on that. Sadly, these people don’t believe in transparency. But I think more, unfortunately, I think a lot of them don’t live in honesty. And it’s a new day. It’s a new administration, and everything’s going to come out to the public. The public has a right to know. Americans have a right to know.”
But what right do the American people really have? I think there’s entirely too much concern about what rights we might or might not have, when it’s a question about embarrassing — and possibly, imprisoning — some very important people who are probably running this country.
Who is going to run the country for us, if all the important people are in prison?
So I don’t want to talk about this. There are so many other more important things to talk about. Like, Coke is going to finally get the high-fructose corn syrup out of their beverages, and replace it with real sugar. That’s a victory for the entire country, considering the ongoing diabetes epidemic.
Is the Lamestream Media talking about the sugar in Coke?
Actually, they are, but they could talk about it even more, if they weren’t wasting our time on the Epstein Files and the “client list” that has disappeared, or maybe never existed in the first place.
To read the news these days, you would almost get the impression that Ms. Bondi didn’t believe in transparency. But she obviously does, because she told us this is “a new administration” and everything is going to come out to the public. Can anyone doubt that this is a new administration? I’m pretty sure it is. So it naturally follows that everything is going to come out, unless it doesn’t need to come out.
But do we need to talk about it?
Yesterday, July 23, a House Oversight subcommittee voted to subpoena the Justice Department for the Epstein files, with three Republicans voting with Democrats on the panel. That’s not going to help matters, and I don’t even know why I am mentioning it.
Years ago, when I told my mom that I planned to be a journalist, she shook her head sadly.
“You know you’re going to have to write bad things about certain people, Louis. And you will feel guilty afterwards.”
I promised her I would never write bad things about anyone. Unless they deserved it.
But she was right. I do feel guilty. And embarrassed.
I’m embarrassed for the news media that I consider myself part of. Or that I used to consider myself part of… but now, that I want to distance myself from.
Come on, guys. Coke is putting the sugar back in! Can’t we celebrate America, instead of dragging it through the mud?
