I read a letter to the editor recently, written by Karen Pontius of Durango titled “Shelli Shaw Predicting Civil War?”
I suspect it was meant to be derogatory towards Shelli who is a candidate for Colorado House District 59. But it seems the op-ed has backfired.
It refers to a “Colorado Times Recorder” article from May of this year in which Shelli Shaw’s 2020 Facebook posts were quoted:
She mentioned the local voter roles being in disarray. They still are.
She claimed the conservative voice will not go away. It hasn’t.
She warned that Patriots will not give up their freedoms without a fight. And they aren’t.
In the CTR phone interview, she didn’t change her position even under pressure. Isn’t that the kind of person we want to represent us in the House? One who’s firm in her beliefs and will not back down?
Look at us today – parents and teachers are fighting over education; city folk and country folk are fighting over water and wolves; families are fighting internally over vaccinations and masks. We are fighting amongst ourselves and families are divided.
Shelli Shaw is the one to truly unify District 59.
Thanks for pointing out the strong, steady, consistent and reasonable belief structure of Shelli Shaw. And if you have questions of Ms. Shaw, she’s traveling all over this District; she’s easy to find. She is always open to answering questions and meeting the voters.
My vote is for Shelli Shaw.
