Rebecca Chavez MD graduates on June 30, 2022 from the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship (SCCF) Program at Westchester Medical Center (WMC) a 920-bed quaternary care and academic hospital affiliated with New York Medical College School of Medicine. She is the daughter of Alice Chavez of Pagosa Springs and Louis Chavez of Belen New Mexico now deceased.
She is a Trauma surgeon and Critical Care Medicine specialist. She will begin in September 2022 as an attending trauma surgeon and surgical critical physician at Penn Highlands in Dubois Pennsylvania.
Dr. Chavez is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with degrees in biochemistry and political science and she completed her general surgery residency at Grady Hospital affiliated with Morehouse School of Medicine.
She hopes to return to the southwest in the future.
