I am writing this letter in full support of Boyd Neagle for Sheriff of Archuleta County.
As a Deputy District Attorney for Archuleta County for almost 16 years, I have had the opportunity to work with many law enforcement officers and agencies. When it comes to the leadership of those agencies, you need someone with honesty, integrity, and experience. You need someone who is willing to go the extra mile in leading and training those within the agency and who truly cares about the community that they serve.
Boyd Neagle is the type of officer that has the experience and willingness to go that extra mile to ensure that justice is served. As a detective, his hard work has helped hold those accountable for their actions and bring justice to their victims. As an instructor at the law enforcement academy, he has been able to build relationships and trust among a new generation of officers who have dedicated their lives to the service of the community. Further, Boyd Neagle has volunteered his time on several boards and groups within the community to help victims of crime.
Boyd Neagle has the leadership experience as well to lead the department in a new direction of competency, integrity and service of the people. His goals of change from the status quo, to move forward from the many issues the department is currently facing, and the regain trust in the community is what Archuleta County needs in a sheriff. A leader who brings new ideas to hold deputies to a high standard of excellence while giving them the training and tools to meet those high standards. A leader who is accessible to the people and willing to serve all. A leader who is willing to give his time, energy and experience to the community to make it better for all citizens.
These are the reasons that I am happy to give my full support to Boyd Neagle as Sheriff of Archuleta County.
