Pagosa UU Fellowship April Calendar

The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship will celebrate and honor the Earth this month. The much-needed rain this week enlivens us to turn our focus to a practice of gratitude.

Our motto of Make Friends – Grow Spirit – Do Good brings us together each week to share, learn, and support one another. Our Shared Values centered in love is a cornerstone for building the beloved community we aspire to.

One earth-related resource that has deep roots in the long history of leadership among faith communities is the UU Ministry for Earth (UUMFE). Its Mission states: UUMFE is a seedbed for spiritual grounding and education that inspires deep practices of Earth care, justice and flourishing for all. Along with a vision of a world in which reverence, gratitude, and care for each other and for the living Earth are central to the lives of all people; the Fellowship will focus on ways to live these aspirations into real-world practices.

Our Sunday programming begins most Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and we look forward to the end of the month when we will join the Pagosa community at the annual Earth Day celebration downtown.

You can find us in the Greenbriar Plaza, Unit B-15, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd. on the north side facing the Pagosa Peak and at our website PagosaUU.org.

This month at Pagosa UU Fellowship

April 5 – Sunday Service, 10:30 am – What Connects Us, A Season for Renewal
Today we will honor our commitment to what holds us together as people of faith. We will celebrate the season of rebirth with an egg tree ritual and welcome new members to the Fellowship.

April 12 – Going Deeper Sharing Circle 10:30 am
In this small-group setting we are invited to share with one another and practice deep listening. We explore themes of recent offerings and leave space for reflection and for whatever else is on our hearts. Come make friends in this lightly-facilitated group.

April 19 – Sunday Service – 10:30 am
A Cooperative Message About the Earth, Speaker Nicole Pitcher
This Sunday before Earth Day, it is fitting that we hear a real-world message about the Earth as well as a spiritual one. We will hear an update on the future of energy in our region and explore the spiritual challenges inherent in the transition from an extractive economy to a regenerative one.

April 26 – Action Sunday! Earth Day in Pagosa Springs – JOIN US at Centennial Park
Come participate in a community celebration for the Earth. Many UU Fellowship members and friends are involved in the planning of this annual event. Festivities begin at 9 a.m. with yoga in the park, and an informal drum circle around 9:45. (Don’t forget your drum) The event begins at 10:00 with an opening ritual. Community booths, music, community tea, food trucks and lots of activities round out the day.

On-Going Groups:
Tara Meditation Group – meets most Sunday evenings – 5:30pm
Wise & Wakeful Circle – meets Saturday, April 25 at 10:00am (typically the 2nd and 4th Saturdays)
Qi Gong – meets Mondays at 1:00pm
