As we welcome the new year, Healthy Archuleta extends heartfelt thanks to our community for a meaningful and impactful 2025 and shares warm wishes for a healthy and hopeful 2026.
This past year, our work focused on strengthening access to food, health, and community across Archuleta County. With community support and grant funding, we began planning for a future Community Food Hub and Hall, convening residents, growers and producers, and partners through a Food Hub Community Learning and Leadership Circle (CLLC) to guide the process. The long-term vision is to strengthen our local food system, expand access to fresh, healthy food, support economic development, and build a community-driven, sustainable model.
We also made strides in improving access to behavioral and mental health services, particularly for residents facing barriers to access, by strengthening referral pathways and expanding access to bilingual providers.
Hands-on learning and community connection remained central to our work. In 2025, Seed to Supper garden education classes were offered in English and Spanish at local community gardens, quarterly food drives helped support all seven local food pantries, and our hydroponic growing program continued to provide fresh produce for food pantry distribution.
October marked the third annual Archuleta Health Fair and Expo at Pagosa Springs High School, an important community event. This year’s health fair was supported by the newly formed Archuleta Rural Health Network, bringing together healthcare providers, organizations and agencies, and community members to promote prevention, wellness, and access to care.
In a rural county like ours, collaboration isn’t just helpful, it’s essential. We are deeply grateful to the community members, volunteers, partners, and organizations who make this work possible. With your support, Healthy Archuleta continues to serve as a connector, strengthening the local networks that help our neighbors thrive.
Thank you for being part of this community. We invite you to continue working alongside us in 2026. To learn more, get involved, or stay connected, visit www.foodcoalition4archuleta.org or send us an email at fsfearchuleta@gmail.com.
Here’s to another year of building a healthier, more connected Archuleta County together!
