Commissioner Medina to Speak at ‘League of Women Voters’ Gathering Tonight

Archuleta County Commissioner Veronica Medina will speak at the inaugural meeting of the League of Women Voters of Archuleta County.

She will address issues facing the citizens of our county.

“The League of Women Voters strengthens our county by providing nonpartisan, fact-based voter education, encouraging civic engagement, and promoting accountability and transparency in government,” Medina said. “Their work helps citizens make informed decisions, increases voter participation and builds stronger, more connected communities.”

The gathering will be held at 5:30pm tonight, Monday September 29, at Elkwood Manor, 85 Easy Street.

The newly formed local chapter invites all interested women and men to attend and enjoy complimentary appetizers and a cash bar.

As a nonpartisan, grassroots organization, the local league’s mission is to support citizens of Archuleta County in election participation in our democracy. It encourages civic participation and ensures that everyone is represented.

Regular meetings are tentatively planned for the final Monday of each month, with programs such as “How Colorado Elections Work,” a candidate forum to meet school board candidates, and an explanation of ballots.
