‘Healthy Archuleta’ Welcomes New Summer Interns

Summertime has come back around to Archuleta County, and with it comes warm weather, fun activities, and opportunities to embark on new & exciting ventures. At Healthy Archuleta, we have no shortage of exciting new ventures to embark on this summer.

For the third consecutive summer, we have brought on another incredibly smart, hardworking, and talented group of youth summer interns. Jessie Elledge, Patelynn Gross, and Andrew Rodriguez are the three youth interns who will be working on a variety of different projects for Healthy Archuleta.

The projects range from researching and developing plans for a community food hub to creating a volunteer outreach plan for local youth in the community to get involved in our work. In doing this work, the interns will learn about the work our organization has done while developing a broader understanding of the issues in food and healthcare access that exist within our local community. Each of these three youth interns brings a unique background and life experience that will tremendously benefit us in informing the projects that our organization has planned to work on over the summer.

We hope the experience they gain as youth interns working for Healthy Archuleta will continue to influence them to live their lives in a healthier and sustainable way while expanding their knowledge and capacity for the careers that lie ahead of them.

We couldn’t be more excited for this year’s youth summer internship! To keep up with the amazing things happening with our youth interns this summer, make sure to visit our website: www.foodcoalition4archuleta.org.
