LPEA Opens Applications for Local Energy Action Fund Grants

La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) is now accepting applications for its Local Energy Action Fund (LEAF), a grant program supporting local projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide community benefit.

Tax-exempt organizations located within LPEA’s service territory are eligible to apply for funding for projects focused on energy efficiency and local renewable energy. Eligible projects may include heat pumps or heat pump water heaters, EV charging infrastructure, induction cooking equipment, energy efficiency improvements, solar installations, and more.

The LEAF grant program is supported by LPEA members who choose to make a monthly contribution on their electric bill.

Grants of up to $15,000 are available with no matching funds required. Organizations seeking additional support can apply for up to $25,000 with a 50% co-investment. Up to four grants will be awarded each year.

Applications are open October 15 through November 30. Interested organizations are encouraged to learn more and apply at LPEA.coop/LEAF.
