HEALTHY ARCHULETA: Mark Your Calendar for the 4th Annual Health Fair

Mark your calendar for the upcoming Health Fair, Saturday, October 24, 7am to 12 noon at the Pagosa Springs High School. The 4th Annual Health Fair is a community-centered event designed to empower you with the tools, insights, and resources needed to live a vibrant, healthy life. This year, we are thrilled to host a vital and timely keynote presentation featuring Dr. Arturo Montaño, MD, a Board-Certified Neurologist at Pagosa Springs Medical Center. The keynote will focus on protecting and maintaining brain health throughout life. The presentation will explore practical strategies for keeping the brain healthy as we age, along with risk factors, prevention, and treatment options for common neurological conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, and nerve damage.

The keynote will also address traumatic brain injury (TBI), an especially relevant topic in a community where skiing, biking, climbing, and other outdoor activities are part of everyday life. Participants will learn about the potential effects of brain injuries, when to seek care, and available approaches to treatment and recovery. Come away with a better understanding of how to protect your brain, recognize concerns early, and support lifelong brain health.

Dr. Arturo Montaño, MD, is a board-certified neurologist and neurocritical care specialist who recently joined Pagosa Springs Medical Center, expanding access to neurological care in our community. He earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed advanced training in neurology and neurocritical care. His clinical expertise includes stroke, traumatic brain injury and concussion, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, seizures, neuropathy, and other conditions affecting the brain and nervous system. Dr. Montaño speaks both English and Spanish.

Don’t miss this opportunity to take control of your health, meet local medical providers, and hear directly from one of our region’s leading experts in brain health. The Keynote presentation is scheduled for 9:00am in the Pagosa Springs High School Auditorium.
