Archuleta County to Host ‘Waste Tires’ Event Sept. 25

Archuleta County will host a ‘Waste Tires’ collection event on Friday, September 25 from 9am to 4pm at the County Public Works/Road & Bridge building, 1122 Highway 84.

The event aims to prevent mosquito breeding, eliminate fire hazards, and improve property values.

A limit of 1,000 tires will be accepted at no cost. A maximum of 9 tires per vehicle will be accepted.

Once the limit is reached, tires will be accepted for a nominal fee of $5-$10 per tire.

What will be accepted:

• Passenger Tires
• Light Truck Tires
• Semi Tires

No other types of waste tires will be accepted. Contaminated tires (dirt, etc.) will be rejected. Commercial operations (tire shops) are not allowed to participate.

Tire hauling services are available at a nominal fee.
