Mark your calendars for September 18–20, when Colorfest returns for a full weekend of fall color, community spirit, and high-flying fun.

Hosted by the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, Colorfest has become one of Pagosa’s most recognizable annual traditions, drawing visitors and locals alike to enjoy the beautiful display of balloons.

The weekend begins Friday, September 18, with Passport to Pagosa, scheduled from 6 to 9pm with live music from Maxwell Miller. This evening offers attendees the opportunity to celebrate Pagosa’s culinary community while encouraging people to discover and support the businesses that make the area unique. Each participant will be able to vote for the restaurant with the Best Vegetarian, Best Sweet Indulgence, Most Flavorful, and Most Original dish. And then there will also be voting for the Best Decorated Booth and overall People’s Choice.

On Saturday, September 19, the celebration continues with Bands, Brews & Barrels, from 4 to 8pm. Guests will enjoy live music from Tylor Brandon, and Bo DePeña, with beer and spirits, while casting votes in the People’s Choice Brewer and Distiller Contest. There will be a variety of food trucks available that evening as well. The evening will end with a stunning Balloon Glow by our Colorfest Pilots, and immediately following the glow will be the State of Colorado Drone Show. A can’t miss viewing!

Colorfest would not be complete without its signature hot-air balloons. Weather permitting, balloon launches are planned for approximately 8am Saturday in downtown Pagosa Springs, south of The Springs Resort, and again around 8am Sunday uptown, across from Les Schwab. The Chamber has also announced an evening Balloon Glow on Saturday, followed by the debut of a State Drone Show, adding an exciting new visual experience to the weekend’s festivities.

Tickets for Passport to Pagosa, and Bands, Brews & Barrels, are available through the Chamber website pagosachamber.com or by calling the Chamber office at 970-264-2360.

Making Your Membership Work

In addition to its major community events, the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce encourages members to participate in its monthly Maximizing Your Membership sessions. Members or prospective members can learn more about networking opportunities, event promotion, sponsorship options, educational programs, marketing tools, and ways to strengthen their business listing and presence within the Chamber network. The sessions also give members a chance to ask questions directly and identify benefits that best fit their goals. Our sessions are monthly with the next one being September 8th at 9am at the Chamber office. Call our office to reserve your spot now! 970-264-2360

Whether enjoying a sunrise balloon launch during Colorfest, sampling local flavors at Passport to Pagosa, listening to music at Bands, Brews & Barrels, or learning how to better use Chamber resources, there are many ways to be involved this season. The Chamber invites everyone to attend Colorfest, support participating businesses, and help give a warm Pagosa welcome to all our visitors!
