As a new school year begins, new routines, busy schedules, and big feelings can easily trigger stress and power struggles at home. To help local families set a positive tone for the year ahead, Healthy Archuleta is offering a 10-week Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) series this fall to strengthen connection, trust, and confidence between parents and children.
Building Connections for a Smoother School Year
Designed for caregivers of children ages 3 to 10, CPRT uses play, a child’s natural language, to build emotional resilience and strengthen family bonds. Led by a licensed mental health provider in a small, supportive group setting, the program equips parents with practical strategies to navigate behavior challenges, reduce home stress, and shift the focus from punishment to connection.
This program is free to families and every weekly session includes dinner for the family and on-site childcare. The fall session of CPRT will take place on Thursdays, September 10 – November 12, 2026 from 5:30 – 7:00pm at the Pagosa Springs Middle School.
How to Get Involved
Healthy Archuleta is currently gathering interest forms to finalize arrangements for childcare, meals, and language support. Completing the interest form carries no commitment, but early responses ensure this resource can be fully supported for local families.
