For the safety of firefighters and the public, the San Juan National Forest Dolores Ranger District has implemented a fire area closure in the vicinity of the Ferris Fire, approximately 30 miles northwest of Dolores and 10 miles east of Cahone, Colorado.

The closure restricts public access to all lands, roads, and trails within the described area, including:
All access points to the Bradfield Bridge campground
All campgrounds upriver to the base of McPhee Dam.
Dry Canyon recreation area and NFSR 510 are open, but the public should avoid lands, roads, and trails west of the NFSR 510.
Violations of the closure order are punishable as a Class B misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.
