PAGOSA UU: An Attitude of Gratitude

“An Attitude of Gratitude” will be the theme of the sermon this Sunday, February 15, at the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship. Visiting minister the Rev. Jenny Amstutz will be with us from Columbine Unitarian Universalist Church in Littleton, Colorado, where she has served as senior minister since 2021. Amstutz and her family enjoy visiting other UU communities and look forward to being with us for worship and fellowship.

Our Sunday service begins at 10:30am, and we look forward to sharing this time with our Pagosa community.
As a lay-led spiritual community, the Pagosa UU Fellowship strives to bring professional ministry to Pagosa throughout the year, and we are honored to host Amstutz.

She states when she is not comforting the afflicted, she is afflicting the comfortable, reminding people that our UU values call us to be brave and bold during these times of despair.

Her sermon, “An Attitude of Gratitude,” draws from Buddhist psychologist Dr. Debra M. Kawahara, who wrote, “It may be precisely in moments of rupture that gratitude becomes most essential.”

Gratitude is the antidote to greed, entitlement and despair. It is a life-giving practice that can help us sustain joy in difficult times. Join us as we explore the spiritual practice of giving thanks.
Our website, PagosaUU.org, holds information about upcoming services and programs. The UU Community Hub offers space for a variety of opportunities for spiritual growth and connection. The Tara Meditation Group is held most Sundays from 4:30 to 6pm. Email the Fellowship to be added to the list and receive information and notices about this meditation practice.

Qigong practice is held at 1pm on Monday afternoons, and all are welcome.

The Wise and Wakeful Circle, hosted by Elaine Harding and Sam Johnson, meets the second and fourth Saturdays at 10am, this month February 14 and 22.

The Pagosa UU Fellowship is located in the Greenbriar Plaza, Unit B-15, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd., on the north side facing the Pagosa Peak. We celebrate diversity and foster a spiritual home for those wishing to “Make Friends, Grow in Spirit and Do Good.”
