‘Guidestone Colorado’ to Present on Food Sustainability in Pagosa Springs

Healthy Archuleta is pleased to announce the next Growers and Producers Forum meeting on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 4-5:30pm. Our guest speaker will be Guidestone Colorado, a community-based organization located in Salida, Colorado. Their focus is on sustainability through community participation in gardening, farming, agriculture education, and access to locally sourced food.

Established in 2007 and located in the Arkansas River Valley in Chaffee County, the founders wanted to create a space that highlighted farming and agriculture to “build capacity for agricultural education, support new farmers, and foster local food systems by connecting people to local food production.”

During this meeting, Guidestone will share how they meet the challenges of growing at high elevations and in cooler climates, and how they organize their community to provide opportunities to learn and grow skills through garden education and support. In Pagosa Springs, we have two community gardens: the Pagosa Springs Community Garden, located downtown, and the Vista Lake Community Garden, located in the PLPOA.

This forum is a great opportunity to learn more about the growing community and offer insight into developing and increasing participation in our local community gardens.

The Growers and Producers Forum event will be hosted online via Zoom.  The meeting will begin at 4:00pm and end at 5:30pm. Those wishing to attend, please email us at fsfearchuleta@gmail.com to obtain the Zoom link for this meeting. For more information about Guidestone Colorado, visit their website at Guidestone.org.
