Community Invited to Archuleta Food Summit on April 18

Healthy Archuleta wishes everyone a healthy and happy 2026. As we begin the new year, our work continues to focus on strengthening Archuleta County’s local food system and expanding equitable access to fresh, healthy food.

Over the past year, we have been laying the groundwork for a Community Food Hub, an effort focused on strengthening our local food supply chain, supporting local growers and food businesses, and improving access to locally sourced food for our community. This work is guided by community members through a Food Hub Community Learning and Leadership Circle and supported by early design planning that explores features such as a shared commercial kitchen, support for small food businesses, and welcoming gathering spaces.

Together, these efforts reflect a long-term vision for local food resilience and food sovereignty in Archuleta County.

Looking ahead, we invite the community to take part in shaping this work at the 2026 Archuleta Food Summit on Saturday, April 18. The Food Summit is an opportunity for community members to learn more about the local food system, hear from growers, producers, and small food businesses, and share ideas about how food is grown, processed, distributed, and accessed in our county. The day will include a variety of sessions designed for community participation, conversation, and learning, because the future of our food system is strongest when it is shaped by local voices.

The Archuleta Food Summit is a biannual community convening, bringing neighbors together every two years to reflect on where our local food system is today and to help guide where it goes next. Ideas and insights shared during the Summit directly inform ongoing food system planning and future investments, making community participation essential. Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 18, 2026, and plan to be part of this important moment in shaping Archuleta County’s food future.

We are committed to building a healthier, more connected food system, and we can’t do it alone. We hope you’ll join us on April 18 and be part of the conversation.
