HIGHWAY 160 RECONSTRUCTION UPDATE: November 24-30

US 160: Striping operations were completed on the north side of US 160 in preparation for shifting traffic to the concrete roadway sometime in early December. More details will be posted closer to the traffic shift.

Crosswalk striping was also refreshed.

400 Block US 160: Crews completed the first part of the sidewalk concrete pour from the 4th Street intersection to the Footprints store front. Downtown customers are encouraged to utilize identified pedestrian detours and access businesses with alternative entries where applicable. The project team is working closely with Visit Pagosa to move pedestrian directional signage accordingly.

4th-8th Streets: Street light wiring and installation of push button poles for pedestrians begins.

500 Block US 160: Remaining work includes: sanitary sewer, water main line and storm sewer installation.

8th Street: Utility work continues across the 8th street intersection. This work will occur primarily at night to reduce impacts.

The project team will break for the Thanksgiving Holiday from Wednesday, November 26 at noon through Sunday, November 30.

Motorists should expect up to 15 minute delays at various times through the work zone as equipment may need to be moved. There will be two-way traffic flowing in the eastbound lanes of US 160 through the first season of operations.

10’ width restrictions will remain in place 24/7 through December 1, 2025.

During inclement weather, project engineers will assess the roadway and work location to make determinations on work continuing depending on safety concerns for workers and commuters.

Watch Where You Walk
Pedestrian crosswalks are open at 1st, 3rd and 4th Streets. Mid-block crossings between 4th and 5th are closed, but the crosswalk at 5th Street will remain open.
