LPEA Announces 18th Annual ‘Fill the Bucket’ Food Drive This Saturday

As food banks across the region experience rising demand, La Plata Electric Association (LPEA) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 111 are stepping up with the 18th annual “Fill the Bucket” food drive in a coordinated effort to collect food and funds that will directly support families in Durango, Pagosa Springs and surrounding communities.

Community members are encouraged to drop off nonperishable food items or monetary donations directly into LPEA’s bucket trucks.

Pagosa Springs events benefiting Healthy Archuleta will take place Saturday, November 22, from 9am to 1pm in the City Market parking lot and in the Natural Grocers parking lot.

How to participate
Donate food: Stop by any event location and place your nonperishable food items into the bucket trucks stationed on-site.

Donate funds: Cash donations will be accepted at all event locations. Monetary contributions may also be dropped off at LPEA offices in Durango or Pagosa Springs. Every dollar collected goes directly to the benefiting food banks to purchase essential groceries.

Why it matters
As rising food costs strain household budgets, local food banks depend on community generosity more than ever. The Fill the Bucket food drive brings together neighbors, utility workers and volunteers to help ensure families across La Plata and Archuleta counties have access to nutritious food as the holiday season approaches.
