Fall is a time of harvest and reflection. As we have gathered all summer in community, we want to keep that momentum going throughout the month of October.
There are several informational and entertaining activities happening during this month. Please join the ones you can attend, and help get the word out to others who you think might like to attend.
Starting off the day tomorrow, Saturday, October 4, will be the Archuleta Health and Fair Expo. It will be at Pagosa Springs High School from 7:00am – 1:00pm. While this event is important for all, it is especially important for those who do not have a primary health care provider or insurance. Blood work will be done in the morning from 7 to 10am. Register online to reserve your spot. These blood tests have a range of panels and are very reasonably priced. At this time, you can also speak to various health care providers or insurance providers.
There will be navigators on site to assist you both in English and Spanish on insurance and health care options. There will be health screenings, food and community vendors, educational booths, and a Farm-to-Table Lunch by Chef Todd, with guest speakers Stacy Foss and Dr. Asit Goswami for only $10, beginning at 11am. You can check out this amazing Expo at foodcoalition4archuleta.org
The evening of October 4 will feature the 3rd annual ‘Runway for Rise’ event, taking place at the Pagosa Center for the Arts at 6pm. Ten teams featuring stunning, creative and ecologically designed outfits will wow the crowd. If you cannot attend the event, vote for one or several of your favorite team designers. Votes are only $1, and you can donate as many dollars as you would like! All proceeds benefit Rise Above Violence and the important community work that they provide. Check out the teams and tickets and look for more information at https://www.riseaboveviolence.org.
