PHOTO ESSAY: ColorFest 2025

A beautiful weekend pleased the masses for the 39th annual Colorfest in Pagosa Springs.

The temps were perfect and the balloons took flight with plenty of brilliant color.

Many new balloons were seen and the launch on both days gave spectators a great weekend of fun.

For the first time, Friday night Passport to Pagosa Wine and Food Festival was held at Yamaguchi Park, under the big tent.

The new venue was certainly a good decision due to all the construction downtown.

Everyone really enjoyed the music and good food prepared by local restaurants.

The wine selection was fantastic. Dozens of choices for guests to try. Dozens of volunteers on hand to pour and facilitate the party.

Saturday morning early balloon lift off was just splendid. Visitors have to be thrilled with the whole display. Locals welcome the fun and find spots all over the Hot Springs Blvd to view the event.

The mass balloon launch seemed closer together than in past years. The number of balloons continues to grow.

Fun did not stop there, Saturday afternoon Bands Brews Craft Brew Beer Festival was just the ticket to get into the new season. Two bands and more food plus plenty of choice beers to take in. Families then took in a perfect sunset followed by the now famous balloon glow.

Sunday morning, another launch. The crews had no problem getting up early for the sweet skies and light winds for the aerial float. Pilots love coming to Pagosa.

Thank you Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce! It is going to be hard to top it next year for the 40th!
