Pagosa UU Fellowship to Consider ‘Selfcare’ This Sunday

The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship is a small, lay-led congregation, which means we don’t have clergy, a pastor or minister. What we do have are amazing volunteers who help plan services, sometimes delivering sermons themselves and bringing in guest ministers from time to time. We have found rest as a spiritual practice and schedule in time for rest and renewal. That is the case this week, September 28, where we extend an invitation to you to focus on selfcare.

The days are shortening, the weather cools, and it is a wonderful reminder to slow down and reflect on what we are grateful for.

Our Fellowship community celebrated the seasonal shift with a Mabon service last week reflecting on the bounty of the season and shared a soup and bread lunch. We invite all to join us for our next service, Sunday, October 5 at 10:30am.

Looking ahead to Fall programming, we will be adding a book group to our Action Sunday! on the fourth Sunday of each month. Pagosa UU often partners with other groups to hold programs at our space as well. We will highlight those in our upcoming monthly newsletter and on our website – PagosaUU.org. Check it out for more details.

The Fellowship meets at Unit B-15 of the Greenbriar Plaza, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd. on the north side facing the Pagosa Peak.

One ongoing group that meets is the Tara Pagosa Meditation Group. A formal course study of the Heart Sutra, following Lama Migmar’s text “The Wisdom Gone Beyond” will be offered.

Sessions include meditation instruction, practice, study and chat. Beginners are welcome anytime. Bring a friend! Practices are now at 7:00- 8:30pm every Sunday.

If you are unable to attend in person, we invite you to join us on Zoom. If interested email the Fellowship to be added to the announcement list with specific instructions.
