The following statement provides a framing for what brings us together at the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship each Sunday.
On the second Sunday of each month, we circle up for a sharing circle we call Going Deeper. This month we begin a series on hope, with resources from the On Being program. This lightly-facilitated group is a place to practice deeper sharing and listening in a safe environment. This invitational space will include listening to excerpts from conversations with visionaries; authors, artists and poets, exploring themes of hope. Journaling activities will enhance our deepening to ourselves and with one another. We hold space for reflection and for whatever else is on our hearts.
This excerpt comes from the host of the ‘On Being’ podcast, Krista Tippett.
“Enough of us — across all of our differences — see that we have a world to remake. We want to orient towards that possibility. We want to meet what is hard and hurting. We want to rise to what is beautiful and life-giving. We want to do that where we live, and we want to do it walking alongside others.”
Come make friends and practice the art of listening with others. All are invited for one or all of these monthly gatherings. This Sunday, September 14, beginning at 10:30am, we will hear from Krista Tippet offering some grounding for this practice of “a muscular hope” that will guide our conversation.
And if meditation is a practice you are interested in fostering, we have that too!
Each Sunday evening, from 7:00–8:30pm., The Tara Meditation Sangha meets. Sessions will include meditation instruction, practice and study of the Heart Sutra and Diamond Sutra. Beginners are welcome anytime, led by our own certified meditation instructor and authorized Dharma teacher.
The Fellowship meets at Unit B-15 of the Greenbriar Plaza, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd. on the north side facing the Pagosa Peak. You can learn more at the website, PagosaUU.org, where you will find our current newsletter with information on all our programs.
