The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs invites the community to celebrate the 30th annual Auction for the Animals on September 6 from 5:30 to 8:30pm at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts.
This is the nonprofit’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and money raised will directly support lifesaving care for homeless and abandoned animals in Archuleta County.
Guests will enjoy a fun and unforgettable evening featuring an adorable pet fashion show, a delicious variety of hearty small plates, one complimentary drink (with a cash bar available), live music by Maxwell Miller, and exciting live and silent auctions offering adventurous and relaxing travel experiences, gift certificates, unique artwork and more. The evening will also showcase heartwarming animal success stories made possible by the community.
This year’s celebration comes at a time when the organization faces unprecedented financial challenges due to ongoing construction along U.S. 160. The Humane Society’s Thrift Store is the backbone of the shelter’s funding and has seen a significant drop in sales this year, affecting nearly half of the animal shelter’s operating budget.
“Our Auction for the Animals is one of the most important lifelines for animals in need,” said Executive Director Elizabeth Kirwin. “With Thrift Store sales down, the animals need the community’s support more than ever. Every ticket purchased and every auction bid will help provide shelter, nutritious food and emergency veterinary care for homeless and abandoned animals. We truly cannot do this without you.”
Tickets are $110. Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets early to guarantee their spot at this fun and meaningful event.
