Are you bilingual? Are you interested in expanding your interpretation skills to support your community? Healthy Archuleta is excited to announce that we are partnering with the Community Language Cooperative to host a free Community Interpreter Training for Archuleta County residents.
Bilingualism is a powerful asset that should be fostered and nurtured in support of our community. The Community Interpreter training is offered for community members who are fully bilingual/multilingual and are interested in using their skills. The training will take place over two weekends, September 19-20 and September 26-27, from 9am to 4pm each day. The training will cover topics such as interpreting ethics and techniques, interpreter care, connecting to our stories, and the importance of heart languages. If you are interested in participating in this important community training, please visit https://bit.ly/41ik5rx to complete the registration form. The deadline to apply is August 22, so we encourage anyone who is interested to register as soon as possible. Health Fair & Expo
The 3rd Annual Archuleta Health Fair and Expo is just around the corner… on Saturday, October 4, from 7:00am to 1:00pm at the Pagosa Springs High School. This year, thanks to a year-long HRSA Rural Health Network planning project, the newly formed Archuleta Rural Health Network is bringing the 2025 health fair to our community, focusing on education, empowerment, and community support.
Our health fair is a community-wide event designed to promote wellness and provide valuable health information to residents. We will continue to offer low-cost wellness labs and connect community members to primary preventative care, which is crucial for those with limited access to health resources in our community.
You can expect a packed day filled with learning opportunities and connections for everyone’s health and well-being. We anticipate a great lineup of healthcare agencies, community-based organizations, functional and integrative health providers, medical screening services, chefs doing food demos, insurance and service providers, farmers market vendors, and more! We’ll have lab services, healthcare providers ready to chat, a delicious farm-to-table lunch with a keynote speaker, and interactive exhibits.
