Knights of Columbus to Hold Annual ‘Duck Race’ This Saturday

The ducks are ready to hit the water.

The Knights of Columbus Council 7560 is having its 22nd annual Duck Race and Picnic at Yamaguchi Park this Saturday, August 9.

Get ready to purchase some (plastic) ducks for a chance to win the race and bring home some prize money.

There are five opportunities to win, and all prizes are cash. First place prize is $1,500, second place is $750 and third place is $500. There are also two randomly drawn ducks to win cash prizes of $125 each. Tickets are only $10. Buy some ducks and maybe you will win some bucks.

The day will start in Yamaguchi Park at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 9 with music by the Retro Cats; a food court with burgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks; a beer garden; and games for both kids and adults.

The race begins when the ducks hit the water at 3pm. You will not want to miss it, but you need not be present to win.

Tickets are available at Pope John Paul II Catholic Church at 353 S. Pagosa Blvd., Silver Dollar Liquor and at the park on race day. Come out for an exciting day of food, fun and fellowship and get in on the action.

Purchase tickets and your lucky duck just might add some extra cash to your wallet.

All proceeds help the Knights of Columbus support the many nonprofits within our community.
