Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County invites the Pagosa Springs community to help us raise a toast to the 2025 build season — three more homes this year, for Archuleta families — and celebrating 30 years of building homes in Archuleta County.
Our FREE celebration on will include hamburgers and hot dogs provided by Habitat for Humanity and served by The Knights of Columbus, plus a ‘Doors for Opportunity” live auction, a beer and wine cash bar, door prizes, kids activities, and dancing to live music by one of Pagosa’s favorite bands, ‘Soul Fire’.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 13. Come one, come all!
Work is moving steadily of the jobsites this summer, with visible progress each day. The crew has completed the siding and exterior “stitch” on one house; the other two are close behind.
Habitat Archuleta relies heavily on volunteers, subcontractors, and generous donors. You can donate to our mission here.
Thank You Sister Corps
We had so much fun getting to know the Sisters from Egan, Louisiana, and learning about their organization! They helped with painting and assisted in siding, and generally provided lots of laughter!
This Week on the Jobsite
We will remain focused on putting up siding and finishing the gabled ends of the units. Our last two garage slabs will be poured at the start of the week… then garage framing!
At Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County, we partner with local workforce families to build homes so they can live in the community which they support. To do this, we utilize USDA Rural Development loans, which provide low interest mortgages our families can afford. We partner with families earning up to 80% Area Median Income (AMI), which currently sits at $75,360 for a household of 4 people. A recent report by the Pagosa Springs Area Association of Realtors found the average home price in Pagosa Springs for 2024 was $635,239. Habitat builds homes valued at about $450,000 which would require a household income of $105,000 to purchase outside of our program in the conventional market.
Habitat Archuleta bridges this gap for folks who contribute to our community such as teachers, nurses, emergency responders, and ski area employees. Habitat Archuleta has built 36 homes since we were founded in 1994, serving 146 children and 116 adults. We are currently working on homes 37, 38, and 39 and are in year four of our 15 homes in 5 years push. These families now have a stable place to call home in our beautiful mountain town as well as an opportunity to build generational wealth.
