The Pagosa Community Initiative (PCI) is pleased to announce a new chapter of leadership and growth within its organization.
Carrie Blue-White has been appointed as the new chair of the PCI Board of Directors, bringing a wealth of dedication and enthusiasm to the role. Blue-White has been a valued board member since October 2023 and has played a pivotal role in the organization’s success, notably serving as the pioneer behind the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, the Second Chance Prom. Her advocacy and commitment have been instrumental in advancing PCI’s mission to foster a more supported and engaged community.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome Carrie as our new chair,” said Rebecca Tenpenny, PCI’s executive director. “Her passion for our mission and her leadership qualities will undoubtedly propel PCI forward as we continue to serve Archuleta County.”
In addition to the leadership announcement, PCI is proud to welcome new members to its executive team. Loren Talley has accepted the role of treasurer, and Jackie Perales has been voted in as a member. Both are esteemed local business owners and passionate community advocates. Julie Ogier has also been serving as a committed board member since the spring of 2024.
Their dedication to giving back aligns perfectly with PCI’s mission to create interactive opportunities that honor culture and diversity, ultimately enhancing wellness and engagement for all residents.
PCI’s mission is to build a place of belonging for everyone in our community. The organization provides a wide range of services, including out-of-school-time programming for K-12 students, family resources, emergency funds, therapy, resource management and adult education.
As the county’s Family Resource Center, PCI is committed to improving the quality of life for all of Archuleta County.
As PCI continues to grow, the organization also wishes to sincerely thank its founding board members — Kris Salisbury, Kelly Lewis, Morganne Foster, Kate Crabbe and Boyd Neagle — who have all come to the end of their terms.
Their groundbreaking efforts and profoundly life-changing contributions laid the foundation for PCI in 2022. Their dedication and invaluable impact on the organization, as well as on the lives of youth and families across Archuleta County, cannot be measured.
We are deeply grateful for their work, leadership and continued support in building a stronger, more connected community. Looking ahead, PCI currently has open positions on its board and is actively seeking passionate individuals eager to make a meaningful impact. The organization values skilled collaborators who want to contribute to a vital, community-driven organization still in its early years of growth.

PCI remains dedicated to fostering a vibrant, inclusive community where everyone can thrive.
