Colorado Nonprofit Association to Lead Two Engaging Leadership Workshops

By Kim Cassels

The Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado is pleased to host two dynamic leadership training opportunities this June in partnership with the Colorado Nonprofit Association. These interactive workshops are designed to strengthen governance, enhance board-staff collaboration, and equip nonprofit leaders with tools for long-term impact.

Beyond Governance: Building a Thriving Board-Staff Relationship will be held Tuesday, June 17, from 1 to 4pm at TBK Bank, 259 W. 9th St. in Durango. The cost is $50 and includes light refreshments. This interactive session is geared towards nonprofit staff and will offer practical strategies to improve communication, clarify roles, and strengthen the partnership between boards and executive staff. Through case studies, guided exercises, and group discussion, participants will walk away with a personalized toolkit to foster stronger organizational synergy.

Board Leadership Bootcamp will follow on Wednesday, June 18, from 9am to 4pm at the same location. The full-day workshop is offered at $100 with breakfast, coffee, and lunch included. This training is geared toward both new and seasoned board members. The session covers the fundamentals of board governance, fiduciary duties, conflict of interest mitigation, and strategies to boost engagement and accountability.

“These trainings are a valuable opportunity for nonprofits in our region to grow stronger from the inside out,” said Briggen Wrinkle, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “Whether you’re a board member looking to better understand your role or a staff leader seeking stronger alignment with your board, these sessions offer immediate, actionable tools.”

Space is limited and registration is required.
